About Nick O'Neill

Nick O'Neill

I've heard that the size of your own picture on your website biography is directly related to the size of your ego. I don't think that's necessarily true.

Fortunately, you have the ability to judge for yourself whether or not that particular rule is fact or fiction (in this case at least) by coming here, to my blog, and reading whatever it is I have to say on a somewhat regular basis. I really am going to leave it up to you.

About me: I am a physics student and slave to learning new things. I currently work at a quant startup company in San Francisco making blogs. It's my job to deal with HTML, stylesheets and javascript so maybe this'll be a better visit to a physics blog than you had first expected.

I began on the east coast, a hop, skip and jump from Philadelphia, and made a short stint at a college in upstate New York where I wasn't quite ready to devote myself to any one thing. My experiences there began to shape my opinions on learning - both how I learn and how I was expected to. I dropped out and moved across the country to make blogs pretty and easy, which I've been mostly successful at for the better part of the last three years. I briefly took to robotics in my spare time which got me thinking about returning to school. Soon after I rediscovered physics and I spent most of 2007 reading, listening and even occasionally discussing physics in my free time. I began to write about science while in a lower-level physics course which couldn't answer all my questions and I'm currently on my way back to full time schooling in physics which I intend on starting in the fall, admissions committee-willing.

My goals for physics are undeveloped but I'm driven mostly by phenomena I wonder about but can't explain. This blog is my outlet for questions and answers alike.
