garrettlisi tipped off twitter about presentation videos from the month-long Theoretical Advanced Studies Institute lecture series. It's available online here, the last presentations just finishing up and already online today.

I've started watching them and although they're quite technical, I can at least take away a little bit of knowledge from each one. I tend to look up terms as I watch and one that sparked my interest was 'rescattering' as used in the first lecture. Lots of results on the web for rescattering effects but I can't find any that list a definition of rescattering. Can anyone supply one in the comments?

I installed the TypePad AntiSpam plugin recently and it's kicking ass with spam. The bigger issue here is that Six Apart (the company I work for) is taking a stand to not make any money from spam. Other services might charge you for the service of blocking your spam.

In a similar manner, TypePad AntiSpam is making this blog a better place to be. I've turned on automatic publishing for all comments because it's doing so well blocking spam. For those commenters who aren't comming through openid or other authentication, you'll see your comments right away. It's a better experience and it's free for you and me.
